CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK This research aims to develop a training program for teachers to enhance their online classroom management skills. The program will be guided by Constructivist Theory, Adult Learning Theory, and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), incorporating modern educational technologies and strategies for efficient online teaching. It's an educational framework developed by Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe that focuses on designing curriculum and instruction based on desired learning outcomes. The main idea behind Understanding by Design is to start the curriculum design process with the end goals in mind, emphasizing understanding and transfer of knowledge rather than mere coverage of content. Identifying Desired Results This involves determining what students should understand, know, and be able to do by the end of the learning experience. It often involves defining overarching goals, essential questions, and desired understandings. Determining Acceptable Evidence Once the desired results are identified, educators plan how to assess whether students have achieved those results. This may involve designing assessments such as tests, projects, or performances that demonstrate understanding and application of knowledge. Designing Learning Experiences and Instruction With the end goals and assessment methods in mind, educators then plan instructional activities and experiences that will help students achieve the desired results. What I do Throughout my career as the executive secretary to the Head of School at an International institution, a significant aspect of my role has involved refining unit and lesson plans. This responsibility entails aligning curriculum content with the American Common Core standards while ensuring adherence to the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. This process demands meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of both educational standards, facilitating the delivery of high-quality, internationally recognized education. I've set up a system using Excel that links each subject from Nursery to Grade 12 with their corresponding grade levels. This allows section coordinators to create unit plans for each grade under their supervision. These plans serve as a guide for teachers to create their lesson plans. ​ Additionally, every year, coordinators choose the most effective lesson plans for each subject and grade level, compiling them into accessible collections. This approach encourages collaboration and ongoing improvement in our teaching methods. ​ With this method in place, I expect that within 2-3 years, we'll have a complete set of top-notch lesson plans for every topic in every subject across all grade levels.
